Our Story
A family owned Temecula winery and vineyard estate; at Lorimar we craft wines that are approachable with a fruit forward style that showcases clean crisp fruit. "We create wines using the best of the old world ways combined with today's more advanced technology, producing delicious varietals and exciting blends," explains co-owner, Lawrie Lipton.
Our Tuscan style winery is showcased amidst adjoining orange groves and our 22 acre estate vineyard. Our first vine plantings were of Cabernet Sauvignon in 2000 followed by Syrah, Grenache, Muscat, Viognier and Sangiovese.
Temecula's wine growing region is unique and special. We are 23 miles away from the ocean which considers us a Maritime climate. Balanced with warm sunny days and moderate nights, the vines flourish and produce excellent fruit quality in our climate.
The Lorimar Estate in particular is blessed with a constant wind that keeps temperatures at a moderate level. The soil composition of decomposed granite and clay drains well and is ideal for retaining moisture reserves deep below the surface roots.
Temecula is ideal for many Mediterranean varietals including our brand new Estate Sangiovese. This grape varietal has harnessed all aspects of Temecula's terroir and really comes alive in our vineyards. The wine is fruit forward of bright cherry with a set of complexity levels of baking spice and a soft tannin structure. It can be enjoyed alone or intensified with a wide array of cuisine, not limited to just Italian food.
